The thing about money is that when you never have it, it ceases to become a deciding factor - especially in the dating realm.

My logic works like this: “I don’t have any money, you don’t have any money; let’s be poor happy scumbags together. Let’s go to the beach and drink cheap shitty beer and explore and enjoy each other.”

I made less than $20k last year, while living off unemployment and whatever I made from cocktailing at the bar. And truly? That year was fucking awesome. I ate borderline gourmet food every day, I biked around the city and didn’t spend a whole lot of money and had a fucking blast. I lived at the beach and went to the zoo and it didn’t matter how much money I had or didn’t have.

And it still doesn’t. So long as I can pay my rent and my bills and feed myself and my dog? I’m set. And if whoever I’m dating isn’t swimming in a Scrooge McDuck-style pool of gold coins? I absolutely do not give a single fuck.

Live in a trailer. Live in a box. I don’t care how much money you have or don’t have - so long as you give a shit about me.
